From modest beginnings in 1949 as a distributor of storm windows – to a large
regional manufacturer of a broad line of quality building products – West Window
Corporation continues to build on a proud heritage.
The current
Chairman / Owner of West Window Corporation, W. E. Giesler, joined the Company in 1951,
soon after it had been founded by Francis T. West in Martinsville, Va. Mr.
Giesler
became president in 1972. His deeply felt and long-honored values of fairness
and professionalism have always been the guiding principles of the company. West Window
Corporation’s
many customers find that same commitment to quality and service shared by the
company’s loyal, dedicated employees.
In the early
‘50s, West Window Corporation began manufacturing aluminum storm windows and doors.
Throughout the decades that followed, the company expanded and diversified its
product line and markets.

 Today, West Window
Corporation specializes
in custom
manufacturing of aluminum and vinyl windows and doors, as well as a variety of
other building products for both residential and commercial applications. West
customers – more than 1100 home improvement dealers, builders, home
manufacturers, building supply companies and contractors – are in a nine-state
territory extending from Delaware and Maryland in the Mid-Atlantic Region to
Florida and Tennessee in the southeastern states.
A highly trained and motivated
direct sales force sells and services the product lines, and West maintains a
fleet of trucks to deliver products promptly and efficiently throughout its
service territory. At headquarters in Martinsville there are more than 190
employees, many of whom have been with the company for decades.
West’s strong commitment to
quality custom manufacturing is part of every customer delivery. From its
original storm windows and doors to its new lines of room enclosures, that
heritage lives on.
A commitment
to meeting customers’ changing needs
Manufacturing of
custom-designed vinyl window products began in 1984. Today vinyl windows have
become the fastest growing market segment in the United States for both
replacement and new construction windows. West now offers seven different vinyl
window styles to meet this growing demand. These include mechanical or welded
double and single hung windows and sliders, as well as casements and matching
picture windows, to complete custom combinations. West’s specialty vinyl
products include bay and bow windows, custom architectural shapes and sliding
glass doors.
 The company also produces a
variety of other building products to customer specifications. These
include aluminum replacement and new construction windows, storm windows and
doors, sliding glass doors, awnings, carports, walkway covers, and three and
four season room enclosures. To more fully service its customers in building
and home improvement industries, the company distributes vinyl siding, columns,
railings and shutters.
In 1990, W. E. Giesler and
Eric Gilchrest purchased West Window Corporation. After over a half century of
success in the window industry, West’s leadership role continues and is one of
its distinguishing marks of quality. This proud heritage positions the company
well as it prepares for a new century of growth.
